Therapy for Women
In-Person and Online Therapy in Colorado
Is life asking too much of you?
Are you tired of juggling it all?
I get it.
The demands placed on women are exhausting—and sometimes impossible to meet.
As a professional, mom, wife, partner, single woman, daughter, sister, or friend… you are constantly traversing the needs and expectations behind a multitude of roles.
Some are imposed by loved ones, colleagues, your community, or the world around you.
Yet others come along with inner voices that shame, judge, and criticize your every move.
But things can change.
Stop surrendering to these external and internal forces and reclaim yourself.
Rediscover and Stand in Your Power
Hi! My name is Kristen Cochran-Ward. I’m a licensed social worker serving women in Fort Collins, Loveland, Wellington, Windsor, Timnath, and throughout Colorado via online therapy.
As a woman, I understand the ongoing pressure to give, perform, and keep it all together in a sea of stressors and past trauma. I’ve been in your shoes, and I know the courage it takes to ask for help. After overcoming my own obstacles, I’ve made it my mission to help others do the same.
Let’s work together to heal open wounds, unlearn harmful dynamics, and harness your strengths to live the life YOU want.
If you are feeling stuck, burned out, or inundated by debilitating thoughts and emotions, I can help you.

What Is Therapy for Women?
Therapy for women offers a safe and affirming space for women to share, examine, and address their problems.
This form of talk therapy involves meeting with a mental health specialist who is qualified to treat women and their unique difficulties—like myself! We will discuss your concerns without assumptions or judgment and identify practical strategies to manage them.
Do You Need Therapy?
Seeking help is not easy. Especially if it becomes yet another task you “have to do.”
But taking care of your mental health allows you to show up for yourself and others in a wholesome way—with intention, insight, and tools to navigate hardship and thrive.
Common reasons why women go to therapy
- Anxiety
- Body image concerns or eating disorders
- Career or work challenges
- Depression
- Difficulties with gender identity or sexual orientation
- Exhaustion, poor energy, or trouble sleeping
- Guilt or shame
- Life transitions (e.g., marriage, motherhood, starting your own business)
- Low self-esteem or self-confidence
- Parenting, relationship, or family issues
- People-pleasing or perfectionism tendencies
- Self-harming thoughts or behaviors
- Sexual problems
- Stress
- Trauma
- And more!
If you or a woman in your life is experiencing any of these difficulties, therapy can support you.
Yet, if you are not struggling but looking for guidance and resources to get to know yourself and grow, therapy is also a fantastic option.
How Can Therapy Help You?
Therapy can help you recognize the negative patterns, limiting beliefs, damaging actions, and distressing experiences that may be interfering with your well-being. You will discover what’s behind your current challenges and the pain you’ve been carrying for so long.
This newfound awareness will give you the roadmap to heal and change courses where required. We will make connections, tap into new perspectives, and pinpoint what may or may not serve you. You will begin to trust and follow your voice again, developing effective skills to cope with your symptoms, handle adversity, and meet your needs.
The goal is to equip you with the wisdom, resources, and confidence you crave to find your truth and build a happier life, one where you put yourself first so you can also be there for others.

I’m Kristen, a licensed social worker supporting women and couples in Colorado. I founded Empowered Path Counseling and Coaching as a safe space for individuals to feel empowered to heal from past hurts and live a joyful, fulfilling life.
My specialties include trauma, sexual difficulties, anxiety, depression, self-esteem and confidence issues, life transitions, parenting, body image concerns, and eating disorders. My practice is open to adult women of any background, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
I follow a humanistic approach, integrating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), internal family systems, and many other modalities according to your needs and preferences. I’m also specialized in sex therapy.
Think of my office as a warm and welcoming place to take your shoes off, cuddle up in a blanket, and drink a hot cup of tea while we chat. I want you to feel at home so you can bring your whole self to our sessions and engage in deep therapeutic work.
You’ll see me wearing cozy clothes and getting comfortable because I want to show up as my authentic self too. And when desired, Lucy and Daisy can join us for some belly rubs and furry hugs!
